HANFORD, WASHINGTON
On a clear wintry day, the plume of pure water vapor coming
from the cooling towers of the Washington Public Power
Supply System's Plant 2 indicates electricity is being gener-
ated for Northwest residents. Located about 10 miles north
of Richland on the Hanford Site, Plant 2 can produce enough
electricity to serve about 350,000 all-electric homes.
