Silhouetted against the peaks and ridges of the majestic Santa
Catalina Mountains, Biosphere 2 gleams in the brilliant desert
sunlight. Dominating the structure, a five-story tower soars above
an intricate pattern of domes, arches and pyramids enclosing an
area as large as three football fields.
