With this coil packaging station, one man
is handling coils from four high-production
slitters that formerly required three men
at Nolder Steel in Chicago. The packaging
line – consisting of a double-ended trans-
fer horn, a coil down-ender, a Signode
M20-SV power strapping machine, and an
automatic coil stacker – is contained in
only 15 feet of conveyor. A coil is
packaged, normally, every 30 seconds.
