You can't buy Bargetto Wines in New York, or Paris, or
London! Bargetto's is strictly a fine regional California wine,
made in small quantities under the watchful eyes of the
members of the Bargetto family. The old family wine-making
methods go back through many generations. Wines made
from grapes grown in this area are noted for their pro-
nounced varietal aroma, flavor, and true character.
Bargetto Wines are available at a limited number of wine
merchants in central California, and at the winery itself,
and direct from the winery to consumer, on order.
The home of Bargetto Wines, a few minutes inland from the
waters of historic Monterey Bay, is ideally situated climate-
wise, for the unhurried aging so necessary in the making of
fine table wines. Here, far from California's hot inland val-
leys, selected varietal grapes, the products of nearby sunny
hillside vineyards, are sorted and crushed. In cool cellars the
natural flavor-filled juices are fermented in small containers
and patiently aged in native redwood tanks and oak casks,
half-hidden in the deep shade of the great winery buildings.
Here, in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains, you can
discover for yourself the products of one of California's few
remaining family wineries, Bargettoʻs.
In Bargetto's tasting lounge, you may leisurely sample the
fine wines that have made the name of Bargetto famous, the
Johannisberg Riesling, Pinot Chardonnay, the Cabernet Sau-
vignon, the Sylvaner, and others. We invite you to visit
