room of The Peninsula, one of the picturesque hotels
of California. Its name comes from its being on the
peninsula on whose northern extremity is the city of
San Francisco. On one side is the Pacific Ocean, on
the other the Bay of San Francisco. The hotel is in
the midst of finely laid out grounds with gardens and
