BATTLING ORTEGA
Um of the few Spanish-Mexican boxers
who made good in the ring, Ortega was
considered a promising candidate for the
middleweight title until a year ago, when
Mike Gibbons and Happy Littleton, of New
Orleans, stopped him. He is a resident of
Oakland, Calif., and fought the leading mid-
dleweights of the country before Tommy
Simpson's club at Oakland. He made a tour
of the east and was successful during 1920,
but the past year he seemed to have lost his
speed and is no longer considered a real
contender for the championship.
