U.S. N. WIRELESS TELEGRAPH STATION
AND COMMANDANT'S QUARTERS. The Wireless
Telegraph Station was erected by De Forest in 1895, and is in
daily communication with Pensacola, Cuba, Porto Rico, and
Panama, and frequently with many northern cities. The U.
S. Naval Commandant's Quarters were erécted in 1890, at a
cost of about $15,000; they front on the harbor.
