THE MANSION

Founded in 1852 and privately supported,
the Society collects, preserves, and
disseminates information relating to the
history of California and the American West.
THE TAMANO ROOM - Formerly the dining
room, it is named for its beautifully grained
wood imported from the Philippines. Each panel
has been carefully chosen for the direction of
the grain to form a harmonious design. This
room opens onto a small circular smoking room
decorated with Oriental motifs.
