Main Gate to Travis Air Force Base. Travis is located half-
way between San Francisco and Sacramento, some seven
miles east of Fairfield. The base is under the control of the
Strategic Air Command (SAC), and the 1501st Air Transport
Wing of the Military Air Transport Service (MATS) is the
largest tenant organization.
