A U. S. Air Force B-36 intercontinental bomber of the
Strategic Air Command (SAC), Travis Air Force Base,
California, is seen over the San Francisco-Oakland Bay
Bridge. The B-36 has six conventional and four jet engines;
can operate above 40,000 feet, and can carry a bomb
load of 40,000 tons.
