Played a major part in transportation to and thru the Adirondacks before the day of the automobile. The Adirondack tourist in those days would leave Old Forge and travel the Fulton chain via Steamboat and a series of short portages or carries. The "Tuscarora" plied the waters of Utawana, Eagle, and Blue Mountain Lakes. Built and launched in 1900 she was 75 feet long and sported twin screws.
