BLUE MOUNTAIN LAKE, N. Y. The Steamboat "Tuscarora"
played a major part in transportation to and thru the
Adirondacks before the day of the automobile. The Adiron-
dack tourist in those days would leave Old Forge and
travel the Fulton chain via Steamboat and a series of short
portages or carries. The "Tuscarora" plied the waters of
Utawana, Eagle and Blue Mountain Lakes. Built and
launched in 1900 she was 75 feet long and sported twin
