THOMAS WOLFE MEMORIAL - 48 SPRUCE
STREET, ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA. Known
as "DIXIELAND" in "LOOK HOMEWARD, ANGEL"
and now one of America's literary shrines, this
house retains the atmosphere of the boarding-
house described so powerfully by Wolfe in his Color King
novel. Maintained by the city of Asheville under
sponsorship of the Thomas Wolfe Memorial
Association.
