Additional Details:
March 10, 1912 - The Ship 'Edward Sewall' anchored in San Francisco Bay after a passage of 126 days from New York. Entire cargo (5500 tons) consigned to the Pacific Hardware and Steel Co., San Francisco, breaking all records for individual shipments to the Pacific Coast. This is the first instance in the history of this coast where a merchant establishment has had the courage to attempt and successfully carry out such an enormous undertaking.
