TSADE MARS
Essex COURT, TEMPLE.--The usual
entrance to the Temple is by Wren's
fine Gatehouse (1684) from Fleet Street.
Beside the Church the name covers
buildings, courts and gardens extending from
Fleet Street to the Thames. The picture shows
a square with old-fashioned brick buildings, a
few trees and a cloistral calm, very restful after
Fleet Street.
