New York Assemblyman, President
President New York 17
Police Board, Secretary of the Navy, Formed the
Rough Riders, Captured San Juan Hill. Wrote PM
letter to Shafter which saved 2000 sick soldiers
from death by fever in Cuba. Governor of New
York, Vice-President, succeeded to the Presideney,
succeeded himself as President; started the Pan-
ama Canal and turned the first shovelful of dirt
himself. Had legislation passed for the successful
cmpletion of the Panama Canal. Built Roosevelt
Dam which will irrigate 1,000,000 acres. Settled
the Russo-Japanese War.
Signed the bill for a
Hydraulic Power Plant on the Mississippi River to
develop 200,000 horsepower forty years after the
project was planned by R. E. Lee. Organized the
Third and Progressive Party to regulate the Trusts,
the Labor and many other important issues of the
day.

Above is some of the things accomplished by this
remarkable man. Of course, many will criticise his
political policies, yet I'm sure posterity will write
his name
the scrolls of Fame for the many
public enterprises he was instrumental in - starting
and completing to make the world better,
