AFTER A SNOW STORM ON SUMMIT OF
PIKES PEAK
Pikes Peak, the historic beacon summit which
guided the early explorers across the great plains,
rears its snowy crest in the midst of a veritable
wonderland. Often in the late spring and early
fall months, in making the trip to the summit
over the famous Cog Road, the tourist will en-
counter a typical mountain snowstorm, and it is
almost beyond belief that in a ride of an hour
and thirty-five minutes, having left behind a land
of sunshine and warmth, he finds himself in a
region of snow and ice.
