LAFAYETTE ROOM AT PUBLICK HOUSE, a Tread-
way Inn, founded in 1771 as
as a coaching tavern
by Colonel Ebenezer Crafts. This Inn forms an
integral part of the Sturbridge common which
was used as a training ground for militia in the
Revolutionary War and the war of 1812.
