During the 1909 Sugar making campaign of
the Spreckels Sugar Co's factory, the twelve
big bins, 800 feet long, and holding more
than 5000 tons each, were filled to their ut-
most capacity and several thousand tons were
piled on the ground at rear of bins. This in
spite of the fact that the factory was conti-
nuously slicing the beets at the rate of 3000
tons a day. The total amount of beets sliced
was about 200,000 tons. The 1910 Crop will
be considerably larger than that of 1909.
