Stolen from Hotel Vendome, on '96 Falcon wheel, No. 378, black enamel, gold on cranks, 3 spokes out of front wheel. Stolen Oct. 1st, 1898. Also one Columbia wheel, taken from Encina Hall, Palo Alto. Sept. 30, '98; model 40, Christy saddle, wooden handle bars, with luggage carrier, front rim enameled white, rear rim varnished, rear wheel does not belong to Columbia wheel, and has spokes of larger diameter, rear sproket has seven cogs, front one nineteen. $5.00 reward for arrest of thief of last named wheel, by owner, notify James H. Lyndon, Sheriff Dated at San Jose, Oct. 4, 1898.
