Feb. 28, 1893; length 350 feet 11 inches; breadth 69 feet
3 inches; draught 24 feet; displacement 11,688 tons;
speed 15 55 knots; 41 guns and i torpedo tubé; 2h offi-
cers and 610 men. The Indiana, under command of Capt.
W. E. Taylor, took part in the battle of Santiago in the
Spanish War.
