Sir:
232
Nora Conklin, Pat Chambers, Caroline
Decker, Martin Wilson, Lorine Norman,
Jack Crane, Al Hougardy and Norman Mini
were sentenced to i to 14 years imprison-
ment each at Sacramento last April under
the anti-labor Criminal Syndicalism Act for
their activities that won higher wages and
better conditions for the underpaid agricul-
tural workers and the unemployed.
The jury specifically acquitted them of
any unlawful ACT; they were convicted sole-
ly for their OPINIONS. Their imprisonment
is a scandalous abuse of justice.
I therefore call upon you to free them FRANCK C. SYKES,
immediately by supporting the just demand
that the California Board of Prison Terms
Kohl Building,
and Paroles, of which you are a member, set
the MINIMUM SENTENCE when the board
meets late in April or early in May of this
San Francisco.
year.
