THE OLD COURT HOUSE
St. Louis, Mo.
The Old Court House, whose cornerstone was laid in
1839 and completed in July, 1862, is situated on the
grounds which formerly contained a whipping post
used in "dispensing justice." This historic structure
is noted as the scene of the Dred Scott Trial of
1847 and the starting point of the Daniel Boone
Trail.
