To carry 1620 miles of 1.4-inch copper conductor from Los Angeles to Boulder Dam are rising along the 270-mile route of the municipal Bureau of Power and Light transmission line. The U.S Government's power development on the Colorado River is the source of Los Angeles' future hydro-electric energy. It is America's greatest power project. Voltage, 275,000; cost of transmission line, $22,800,000; to be completed in September, 1935.
