TROPHIES OF A BIG HUNT. The district
where our popular ex-President, Theodore Roosevelt,
has been hunting, is one of the finest game districts
in all Africa. It is situated many weeks' march in-
land from Mombassa, in the heart of the tropical
jungle. The natives spread out over a large area and
then drive the game toward the hunter, who, if he is
any kind of a shot, can easily bag a number of fine
specimens. The native porters have a great respect for
a white hunter, for with his high power rifle he often
saves one of chem when attacked by a leopard or lion.
