Mombassa to Nairobi, Roosevelt, with two friends and
one of the gui les, rode on the front of the locomotive.
Owing to the slow rate at which the trains travel, this
can be done with perfect safety and, besides being
cooler, gives the traveler a better view of the mag-
nificent scenery. During the trip game was seen on
all sides.
