2. ROOSEVELT ARRIVING AT MOMBASSA. One
of the happiest moments in any traveler's journey is
the time of arrival at the objective port. As the
steamer nears land every passenger comes on deck,
eager to get a first glimpse of land. We find that our
ex-President is no exception to this rule, for he is
standing on th: upper deck of the steamer as it en-
ters Mombassa harbor, the principal port of British
Sast Africa and the real starting point of the ex-
pedition.
