Purposes of the Lincoln-Roosevelt Republican League 1. The emancipation of the Republican Party in California from domination by the Southern Pacific Railroad Company and allied interests. 2. The selection of delegates to the next Republican National Convention pledged to vote and to work for the nomination of a candidate for President known to be truly committed to and identified with President Roosevelt's policies. 3. The election of a free, honest and capable legislature. 4. The pledging of all delegates to conventions against the iniquitous practice of "trading." 5. The election of United States Senators by direct vote of the people. 6. The enactment of such a primary election law as shall afford the party voter a direct vote in the selection of party candidates.
