The Bleriot Monoplane M. Bleriot made a name for himself and his monoplane on July 25th, 1909, by being the first man to fly from France to England. He completed a distance of 31 miles in 43 minutes, alighting safely near Dover Castle. The Bleriot monoplane is one of the smallest in existence, it needs no shed to house it, and when the wings are folded it stands in the space of a medium sized motor car. Total weight, 496 lbs. Total length, 26 ft 3 in. Span of wings 25 ft. 7 in.
