The Air Races this year commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Glen Curtis' Famous Flight, Aug.31, 1910, from Euclid Beach to Cedar Point, a distance of 64 miles, which was the world's record flight over water. Time in air, 78 minutes, speed 49.8 miles per hour, plane was "loaded" with 10 gallons of gasoline and 2 gallons of oil. Two of the spectacular American pilots participating in the 1935 National Air Races are Colonel Roscoe Turner, 1934 winner of the Thompson Trophy, and Lee Miles, winner of the 1934 Louis William Greve Trophy.
