Harrisonburg, "The Friendly City", county seat of Rocking-
ham County, is in the very center of the lovely and historic
Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and the world famous
Caverns district of the East. To the west lies the George
Washington National Forest while eastward is the awe-
inspiring Skyline Drive and Shenandoah National Park.
Harrisonburg was established in May, 1780 and is located
midway between the Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountains
at an elevation of 1329 feet and in the heart of one of
America's richest agricultural regions.
