Held in 1932 and 1933, this was the culmination of years of planning for a statewide celebration called Fiesta Year. Generally based on gold rush history, the production involved dozens of local residents in the orchestra, on the stage, and constructing sets. Based on "The Golden Trail" by Charles Cadman, there were 237 characters in the play, consisting of miners, hunters, Spanish dons, Indians and their women folk.
