Formal Opening : 22 June.
Closing ceremonies : 6 july.
Place : Pershing Stadium, on outskirts of Paris, in Bois de
Vincennes near Joinville-le-Pont.
The Stadium : Erected especially for the Games by the
Y.M.C.A. and presented to the A.E.F.; seating capacity
25,000; concrete structure completed by U.S. troops ; field
graded and track laid by French engineers. To be presented
to France on completion of Games.
Competitions in the Stadium : Baseball, basketball, boxing,
cricket, cross country race, fencing, soccer, Rugby football,
hand grenade throwing, horse-riding, track and field sports,
tug-of-war, wrestling.
Competitions not in the Stadium : Tennis, swimming, rifle
and pistol shooting, rowing, and golf.
Nations Participating : America, Australia, Belgium, Brazil,
Canada, China, Czecho-Slovakia, France, Guatemala,
Hedjaz, Italy, New Zealand, Portugal, Roumania, Serbia.
Civilians and Soldiers of all Allied countries invited; no
charge for tickets. Information bureaus will be operated at
ali prominent points in Paris before and during Games,
Master Color Wextmath Jr.
