Poston, Arizona was named after Charles Poston
when he and a group of engineers were looking for
ports along the Colorado River for inland shipping.
During
Japanese as a work camp
Following the installation of dams along the Colot ado
River in 1938 and the installation of Head Gate
Rock Dam near Parker, Poston became the center
of 107 thous and acres of potential farmland under
lease from the Colorado River Indian tribes.
