| The Mary Baldwin Seminary, formerly the Augusta Female Seminary, stands as a monument to the philanthropy and earnestness of Miss Mary Julia Baldwin, by whom it was built up and endowed. The picturesque and artistic lawns around the old Colonial buildings give the institution a peculiar distinction of its own. About 30 of the United States are represented in its 300 students. |
