Carving Theodore Roosevelt's Face
Additional Details:
Framed on the right by the rugged features of Abraham Lincoln and on the left by the serene countenance of Thomas Jefferson, the face of Roosevelt is emerging from the solid granite of Mount Rushmore in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The gigantic size of this world's largest sculpture may be appreciated by noting the ant-like figures of the men at work. To Gutzon Borglum, world famed sculptor, is intrusted the execution of this monumental work. From the Darlene Thorne Collection |
