Happy's pot of beans. Some folks load a table with meat, And others with garden greens; But the table where I want a seat Is where Happy is serving beans. I don't care for a banquet table Surrounded by kings and queens; Give me a box in the kitchen And a pot of Happy's beans. As we roll along the highway, Others may be watching the scenes; My thoughts are on the "Top of the Hill," Where I know Happy has beans. There's the flag at top of the pole, To me it fairly screams; "This is the end of the journey, Here awaits Happy with beans." You may have all your seafood, Roast beef and your pork; None of them are as good as Happy's beams heaped on a fork. Should I ever get to Heaven, Amid its glorious scenes, The most beautiful to me Will be Happy cooking beans. - Rattlesnake Bill Jacumba. |
