The ranch made famous by Lorimar Productions, Inc. & CBS TV Series "Dallas". Located Parker Road & FM 2551 - 6 Miles East of Plano, Texas, USA. The ranch was conceived, designed and built by its present owner, J. R. Duncan, in 1970. Prior to that date the 200 acre spread was fields of cotton and wheat. It took approximately two years to build all the main structures. Southfork tm prides itself in fine quarter running horses; here the 1980 World Champion running Horse "Super Sound Charge" was bred, raised and sold. In late spring of 1978 Lorimar Productions, Inc. contacted Duncan to discuss the possibility of using the ranch in a new TV series called "Dallas" and the rest of course, is history. Southfork TM has been acclaimed as the number one tourist attraction in the Dallas / Fort worth area, being visited daily by people from all over the world. Southfork TM is open to paid tours Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. (weather permitting). So, when you are down Dallas way, drop by and see J. R.'s place! |
