"Birthplace of a President"
GENERAL DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER
Denison, Texas
This typical pioneer home is now a "patriotic shrine"
and is visited by thousands each year. Shortly after the
birth of the future president, the Eisenhower family moved
to Abilene, Kansas where "Ike" spent his school days
until entering West Point.
In addition to this memorial in his honor, a great
National Shrine is now completed at Abilene where myriads
pay tribute to the western young man who made good.
