Under auspices of Southern California Hiking Association of
Los Angeles, Calif., U. S. A.
Started, January 1st, 1921 from Los Angeles, Calif. U. S. A.
Finish by January 1st, 1931, at same city. Time Allowed
10 years. Object of Race, to establish a World's Record
for endurance and long distance walking. Our Object, to
win a $25,000 Prize offered to the winner of race.
Average to Win, 273 miles per day for 10 years. Register,
obtain Postmaster's signature and cancellation stamp of
Post Office at every Capital City in the World. Total
193 Capitals. Total Walking Mileage to be registered
Pedometers with totalizer sealed. Report face reading
of Pedometer daily, these reports to be checked with Totalizer
when opened at completion of Race. Contestants at start
13 couples. At Present 3 couples left. Mileage to Date
walking 36,324 miles, Riding 4,866 miles. Walking Average
to Date 303 miles per day. Finished to Date, 85 Capitals
including every country in South and Central America,
Mexico, West Indies, every State in U.S. A. and every Province
in Canada, (except 2). Upon completion of Canada (about
July 15th, 1924) we ship to Europe, Africa, Asia, etc. Our
Mascot's feet were unable to stand the pace, so shipped him
back home from San Carlos, Mexico. Condition of Fi-
nancing Race, Start with 1,000 Souvenir Cards and No
Cash, making every expense, (food, clothing, lodging, steamer
fare, more cards as needed, etc.) by selling Souvenir Cards,
exclusively
