NORTH CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH

Organized in 1671, the present building was erected in 1855,
on the site of that of 1712. Noted members were William
Whipple, signer of The Declaration of Independence; John
Langdon, signer of the Constitution; Daniel Webster, Orator-
Warden of this church. George Washington worshipped here
in November of 1789.
