Beal's Grill was founded in 1940 by the late Walter and Hazel Beal, noted sports enthusiasts. Howard Fielder, the founder's son-in-law, operated the grill from 1958 until 1986. Howard's Birthday is a special event celebrated by his many friends and customers. Both Howard and Burnice Fielder have maintained the grill's original atmosphere of inexpensive fare and sharp repartee. Throughout the years it has been a favorite Creighton University landmark for alumni and students.
