Columbia Calif
The original building was erected in 1854 to house a
tobacco shop. It was destroyed by fire the same year
and was rebuilt. It was torn down in 1866 to enable
the miners to mine the property for gold. It was later
rebuilt and became the Kuse Sa loon in 1881. It is now the
home of the COLUMBIA HOUSE RESTAU RANT which
still retains some of the menus of years ago, such as Red
Eye Gravy and Red Flannel Hash. The décor is authen-
tically restored in the gold rush period atmosphere.
