Kutay Kugay, “Do you know, John, I love this machine
more than I love your Uncle Walter,” film/perfor-
mance, March 5, 1976.
At 80 Langton | constructed a projection-space,
sound sculpture and worked with two other people to
express the atavistic and banal qualities inherent in the
films used. Cinema provided only light and sound. The
images of the films were transformed and subverted by
semi-opaque, translucent, transparent and reflective
materials placed throughout the space and by the
performers who were largely improvising activities
from the lives of the people in my films.
