DAVE SHADE
Western "Meteor" Champion
Coming from a family of boxers, Dave
Shade has made a name for himself the past
18 months. His brother, Billy, made a name
for himself in Australia and Brother George
satisfied himself with the four-round gamo
in California. David went east and tackled
the best there were in the game, his best
showing being against the champion, Jack
Britton.
Once before he fought Britton in
Portland, Ore., and put him to the mat.
Since then Dave has beaten many of the
star welters and is now proclaimed Cham-
pion by the New York Boxing Commission,
because of Mickey Walker's refusal to meet
him
under 22 years of age.
He is a California boy and is just
