The graduation exercises of the famous Chautauqua Reading Circle or CLSC are held on Recognition Day, usually the third Wednesday in August. The day is made the occasion for a general reunion of members of CLSC from all parts of the country, celebration of class anniversaries, etc. It marks the culmination of the Chautauqua season and is a revolution of the widespread influence of Chautauqua. |
