San Francisco. During the great fire
that followed the earthquake in 1906
28,000 buildings were destroyed at an es-
timated loss of $105,000,000 and a total
property loss of $ 400,000,000. The city
was practically rebuilt in three years,
but each year since has made notable
additions to its important buildings.
This view gives an idea of the wonder-
ful progress which has been made in
the business section completely destroy-
ed by the fire.
