OROVILLE DAM, CALIFORNIA
The excavation for the giant spillway was nearly
completed when this aerial picture was taken
in late summer of 1965. Atop the dam can be
seen the end of a conveyor system which carried
the fill material from a car dumping station
located downstream and across the river.
