PLACE
STANFORD UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER, situated
on 56 acres of land, houses the School of Medicine
and the Stanford University Hospital and Clinics.
Its three-story buildings, connected by arcades,
enclose 16 acres of floor space. It was dedicated
in 1959. Included in the School are research and
teaching laboratories, and the Lane Library, largest
collection of medical books and documents in
the West.
