Exposed steel, effectively displayed
by a buttress and arch, is featured in
the auditorium addition of Capuchino
High School in San Bruno, California.
Architect John Carl Warnecke, A.T.A.,
San Francisco, designed the 120 by 82
foot auditorium which will have a seat-
ing capacity of 980. Schrader Tron
Works of San Francisco fabricated and
erected the structure from steel sec-
tions supplied by Bethlehem Pacific.
Each of the arches is composed of a
Bethlehem 45-foot long, 18-inch wide
flange beam, weighing 50 pounds to
the foof. These were torch cut along
the center line, bent to form the arch
and rewelded. Structural Engineers:
