An Otoe-Missouria-Kiowa from Yukon, Oklahoma, deana
is a political science graduate of Oklahoma University.
deana's Kiowa name is translated "Traveling Through Life
With the Ten Medicine Gods of the Kiowa.” Dressed in tradi-
tional Otoe clothing, she wears an 1857 Peace Medal be-
longing to her grandfather, Moses Harragarra, last heredi-
tary chief of the Otoe. deana held the first Miss Indian
Oklahoma title.
The 1976 All American Indian Days and National Miss Indian
America Pageant will be held in Sheridan, Wyoming, on
July 30, 31, August 1.
